EvoDis® Lightning Prevention System is a unique lightning protection solution that is designed to prevent lightning strikes on metal structures with 100% success.
Unlike traditional lightning arresters or lightning rods, EvoDis® System does not attract lightning strikes to the structure, but blocks the formation of a lightning strike between the storm cloud and the site. This process prevents damage to equipment at the site and avoids service drops in the operation.
EvoDis® System is the result of over 5 years of research and 1.5 years of development studies. MTO invented EvoDis® Lightning Prevention System as the first and only lightning prevention technology that keeps sites invisible to lightning strikes. Thanks to the highest-quality stainless steel and additional chemical treatments, EvoDis® System offers clients a “maintenance-free” product with a 10-year warranty.
EvoDis® is the first and only lightning protection solution to be tested in the high-voltage laboratory and in the field, achieving 100% success in both.
We are proud to announce that there have been no direct lightning strike damages in any of the thousands of EvoDis® System applications in the past 18+ years.
How it WORKS
The negative charges in the storm cloud pull the opposite(positive) charges on the ground through the bodies of the structures. These positive charges climb and collect at the tallest and sharpest point of the structure, and emit towards the cloud when they reach a critical concentration. When they meet with the negative charges in the sky, they form a conductive channel between the cloud and the structure, which is called a “Lightning Strike”.
EvoDis® Lightning Prevention System is made of tens of thousands of tiny, sharp, conductive pins. When the ground charges climb on the structure, they reach the EvoDis® Units. The total number of charges is rapidly divided into much smaller packages through the tiny pins of EvoDis® Units, so they cannot reach a concentration level high enough to form an upward streamer towards the cloud. They never meet the negative charges in the sky, and no lightning channel forms between the structure and the cloud.
In other words, EvoDis® System makes the structure invisible to lightning strikes.

Once we gather information and pictures of the site to be protected, MTO's Engineering Team develops the appropriate design for that particular site, and our Design Team prepares the design project of the EvoDis® System, which shows the correct models to be used, how many to be installed, and exactly where to install them in detail.

Application
EvoDis® Lightning Prevention System is delivered with Guides and Installation Schemes.
The Installation Guide provides general information on installing the EvoDis® System on a structure and is delivered in each product box. The 10-year warranty certificate is also attached at the end of the guide, along with the product serial number.
The EvoDis® System configuration is presented in the Installation Scheme with detailed instructions so field teams can easily understand and install EvoDis® Units at the appropriate locations on the tower.
Remember, the EvoDis® System does not require any conductors, and there is no need for additional grounding.
With the easy installation complete, you can start using the benefits of your EvoDis® System immediately.
